Principal's Piece

Dear Parents and Carers

This week we have welcomed a number of visitors into our school from CEWA: our school psychologist and consultants from the Students with Disability team who are working with staff. As a school we promote trauma informed, positive education and the wellbeing of children. These consultant visits provide our staff with support to ensure our classrooms reflect this pedagogy.

This week we spoke about being strong learners in class. At Monday assembly the students identified what they need to do to achieve this. Some of the behaviour we talked about is staying on task, trying your best, having a go, being positive about learning and being proud of your work. I encourage you to ask your child about how they are a strong learner at school.

Just a reminder we have our busy bee this Saturday at 7.30am. Many hands make light work so we look forward to seeing lots of our parents/carers. If you are coming please BYO gloves and if you have a wheelbarrow or shovel you could bring that would be wonderful. Students will have the opportunity to plant something for the special lady in their lives as it is the Mother’s Day weekend.

There has been a great buzz about our Mother’s Day Basketball match this Friday at 1.30pm at the Basketball court. Even if you’re not up to playing come along and join in the fun of this event!

Cross Country is scheduled for next Friday 14th May, 9.30-11.30am. Parents/Carers are welcome to come along. If you are available to volunteer for this event please speak to Matilda Kehl as we would love help with marshalling and also with the Sausage Sizzle.

Code of Conduct Statement 2 You give priority to student’s safety and well-being in all your behaviour and decision making.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
