2021 Term 1, Week 4

February 24, 2021

Principal's Piece

Dear Parents and Families

It was great to have all our staff back on deck this week. Our teachers have been busy finishing student literacy and maths testing in order to understand student needs. We had another planning meeting for the upcoming St Patrick’s Quiz night to organise prizes. If you are able to donate a prize it would be greatly appreciated. We will have another planning meeting next Friday 5th March, 2.30pm at the school. All parents and friends of St Joseph’s are welcome to attend and assist with preparations.

As you know the school has its own Code of Conduct, which describes minimum standards of conduct in all behaviour and decision-making to ensure the safety and well-being of students. As a staff we regularly review the conduct statements and how these apply to us in our different roles within the school. This year we hope to develop a student Code of Conduct which reflects the student voice within our school. The initial process for this has begun and we look forward to sharing this with the school community when complete.

Staff will be participating in Berry St Trauma-Informed training on the 15th and 16th March so there will be no school on these days. The OSHC will also not be open during this time as all staff need to attend this training.

Swimming starts this week for students in Year 3 to 6, so please make sure you have returned your child’s permission note and send them to school with everything they need for swimming on Thursday.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Miss Gabby

Principal
