Message & Notifications From The Principal

Dear Families and Friends

It has been fantastic to hear the abundance of positive comments about our Christmas Concert last night. The students are to be commended on their terrific performances. A big thank you to Kelvin Pine, who provided crystal clear sound; members from St Vincent Pallotti Church for looking after the BBQ; Susan Swan and Judith Brennan who blessed departing staff members; Matilda Kehl for coordinating the event; families, carers and friends; and the staff and students who worked so hard towards making the night such a success!

Reports

Reports have now been sent home with all students from Pre-Primary - Year 6. Thank you to the teachers for taking the time to ensure detailed and accurate reports were provided.

Moving Forward Day

Well done to teachers for contributing towards a successful moving forward day last Friday. It was terrific to see students leave their new classrooms with smiles on their faces!

Deadly Speaker Awards

Congratulations to those students who received a 'Deadly Speaker Award' from the Mirima Language Nest team on Monday.

This Week

Congratulations to Ms Deb and the students who delivered Christmas hampers to families in our community. The Mini Vinnies have worked hard to ensure that a large number of people can enjoy a brighter Christmas this year.

We will farewell our Year 6 students in style at our Graduation/End of Year Mass on Friday morning at 8:30am. We look forward to seeing you there.

Change of staff for 2021

Mrs Melinda Monks has been granted an additional 12 months of leave for next year. As a result, Mrs Sophie Waideman will be returning to St Joseph's one day a week. Sophie will be providing Literacy support for Kindergarten-Year 2 classes and teaching Year 1 after recess each Monday.

P&F & School Board News

In 2021 we will be seeking volunteers to take on new roles within the School Board and P & F Committees. Our AGM will be held on Wednesday 10th February where vacant positions will be filled. New Board & P&F members are most welcome.

Principal's Message

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank the St Joseph's community for your support over the past four years. We will most certainly hold fond memories of our time being in Kununurra. For those families who are leaving, thank you for the contribution you have made to our school and all the best for the future. To those who are returning, the St Joseph's staff look forward to working hard in producing the best possible outcomes for all students again in 2021. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday.
